Duo Rotunda

From the city of Biel, Nathan Zürcher and Nicolas Caccivio decided to found the cello and piano duo "Rotonde", named after the brewery where they met.

 

The rotunda is a rotating platform located at the entrance of the railway sheds, so that the locomotives can travel in all directions. It is with this sentence that the duo is motivated to explore various horizons of the classical repertoire for cello and piano.

 

Nathan and Nicolas studied together at the University of Music in Basel and started their collaboration there. After taking valuable lessons from musicians such as Anton Kernjak, Thomas Demenga, Filippo Gamba and Ophélie Gaillard, the duo began performing in Basel as part of the "Mimiko" concert series. Since then, they have been playing all over Switzerland and have started a national and international career.
